About Our Design
Blast freezer evaporators are engineered for the most demanding rapid‑freezing applications in both tunnel and batch systems. All performance data is calculated in accordance with Eurovent EN 328 standards, with reference capacities based on R404A refrigerant. The units are also fully compatible with R449A, ensuring compliance with modern low‑GWP refrigerant regulations while maintaining high efficiency.
The design emphasizes robust coil geometry and airflow management. Each unit employs a 56 × 48.5 mm coil geometry with copper tubes and aluminium fins, available in 1/2" or 5/8" tube diameters depending on the series. Fin pitches of 10–12 mm are optimized to minimize frost accumulation during deep‑freeze operation while maintaining effective heat transfer. This balance allows the evaporators to sustain performance even under heavy icing conditions typical of blast freezing.
Air movement is provided by high‑capacity axial fans, 630 mm in diameter, arranged in configurations from single‑fan compact units up to six‑fan industrial tunnels. Airflow ranges from approximately 16,000 m³/h in smaller models to nearly 99,000 m³/h in the largest tunnel units, ensuring rapid and uniform cooling across all scales of operation. Coil surface areas scale accordingly, from ~60 m² in compact units up to 477 m² in tunnel systems, delivering cooling capacities from 6 kW in entry models to over 100 kW in the largest six‑fan units.
The internal tube volume ranges from 12 dm³ in smaller models to 163 dm³ in the largest tunnel units, a critical factor for refrigerant charge calculations and system design. Defrosting is achieved through carefully sized electric heaters in both coil and drip tray, with power ratings scaled to match the frost load of each configuration. Connections are standardized across the range, from 5/8" to 4 1/8", ensuring compatibility with diverse system designs.
Every detail of these evaporators reflects a commitment to reliability and practicality. The heavy‑duty construction, optimized fin spacing, and high‑capacity fans guarantee consistent performance in extreme freezing environments. At the same time, the modular fan configurations and wide capacity range make the product family adaptable to both small batch freezers and large industrial tunnels. By combining engineering precision with operational flexibility, these blast freezer evaporators provide dependable solutions for rapid freezing applications worldwide.
