About Our Design

All performance data and capacities presented in this catalogue have been calculated in accordance with Eurovent EN 328 standards, using R404A refrigerant as the reference fluid. While R404A is the baseline for capacity ratings, the evaporators are also designed to operate reliably with R507, R134A, R407A, R407C, HFO blends, CO₂, and NH₃, ensuring flexibility for different system requirements. The published cooling capacities therefore represent standardized values under R404A, but the units are fully compatible with the alternative refrigerants listed.

The operating conditions are categorized into four standard classes, SC1 through SC4, covering applications from medium‑temperature cold rooms down to deep‑freeze storage. SC1 corresponds to +10/0 °C, SC2 to 0/–8 °C, SC3 to –18/–25 °C, and SC4 to –25/–31 °C. This classification allows customers to quickly identify the expected performance of each model under typical refrigeration scenarios.

The coil design is based on copper tubes and aluminium fins, with fin spacing options of 4, 6, or 8 mm depending on the application. Tighter fin pitches are suited for chill applications where air defrost is possible, while wider pitches are used in freezer environments to reduce frost build‑up and maintain airflow. Across the product family, the coil surface area ranges from approximately 4 m² in the smallest single‑flow units to about 115 m² in the largest double‑flow ceiling models, providing a wide spectrum of heat exchange capacity. The tube volume varies between 1 dm³ and 30 dm³, which is important for calculating the total refrigerant charge in a system and ensuring proper oil return and defrost efficiency.

Fans are axial type, selected for quiet and efficient operation. Single‑flow units such as TSB and TSA are equipped with one to six fans of 300–630 mm diameter, delivering airflow between 800 and 12,000 m³/h. Double‑flow units such as TDB and TDA are equipped with one to six fans of 250–630 mm diameter, with airflow capacities ranging from 825 m³/h in compact models to nearly 28,000 m³/h in industrial‑scale units. This range ensures that the evaporators can be matched to both small commercial cold rooms and large distribution warehouses.

The housings are manufactured from galvanized steel with powder coating or aluminium, painted in RAL colors for corrosion resistance and durability. Electrical supply is standardized at 230V AC with 1400 RPM motors, while 400V three‑phase options are available upon request. Defrosting can be achieved through air in positive‑temperature applications, or through electric heaters, hot gas circuits, and drip tray heaters in negative‑temperature environments. All units are tested to a pressure of 32 bar, guaranteeing safe operation under the specified refrigerants. Connection sizes vary from 1/2" to 2 1/8", covering the full range of models.

Finally, the evaporators are designed for ease of maintenance. Ceiling mounting provides efficient use of space, while hinged drain trays allow quick access for cleaning and servicing. This combination of performance, flexibility, and practicality ensures that ThermoCoolTech ceiling‑type evaporators meet the needs of both commercial and industrial refrigeration applications.
